Press-in plug, single-sided

Shear forces often occur at junctions when components lying on top of or next to each other want to move against each other under the effect of load. To cope with these shear forces and prevent different deformations, press-in dowels are used. These are placed between the components, pressed in and secured with a through bolt or a SPAX wood construction screw. The bent-up tips of the press-fit dowel engage in the wood and thus prevent it from shifting. For the wood/steel connection, the dowel must be designed on one side, with the flat side resting against the steel.This means for you: No displacements and deformations due to shear forces, easiest assembly.
