Also known as a double cross or Pozidriv, the cross recess Z is a further development of the cross drive by the Phillips Screw Company. The difference is that the four flanks of the screwdriver blade do not taper towards the tip. This increases the lateral hold for the screwdriver bit and reduces the so-called cam-out effect. This occurs through the typical tapering on conventional cross drives, since the torque exerted by the cordless screwdriver pushes the bit upwards and out. What this means for you: No more worrying about screwdriver bits slipping out, easier work with much less exertion. This saves a huge amount of time.

Installing window and door frames with plastic and aluminium profiles calls for a head shape that can withstand high pulling forces whilst not being too thick. Our flat countersunk head ticks both boxes. It finds its place on our SPAX-RA full-thread screw, which is used for the plug-free fastening of window and door frames. As you might expect, the T-STAR plus drive takes care of force application. What this means for you: No more obstructive screw heads inside window and door frames.

In principle, all of our screws can be organised into two groups: screws with partial thread and screws with full thread. Screws with partial thread are ideal for fastening components like engineered wood boards, panels, floorboards and even squared timbers on load-bearing components like stud framing or posts (in this case, with our HI.FORCE). While the thread makes its way through the load-bearing component, the thread-free shank of the partial thread screw should pull all the way through the top attachment. When the screw is inserted further, the screw head pulls the upper component onto the lower one. By inserting the screw, maximum contact pressure is therefore created between the two components. Of course, this effect is ideal when the thread-free shank has at least the same thickness as the attachment What this means for you: Partial thread screws offer the ultimate clamping force in wood construction.

The term 4CUT is used to describe the fact that the point of our screws is not rounded, but rather shaped like an arrow. These four edges displace the wood fibres upon insertion and thus create space for the core diameter of the screw. The otherwise inevitable expansion at the core of the wood is effectively reduced, minimising wood splitting around the edges. The required cordless screwdriver torque is also reduced, since the screw core no longer needs to ""squeeze"" into the wood. What this means for you: Practically no pre-drilling required any longer – even in the edge areas of your workpiece that are normally prone to splitting! The 4CUT means you can skip an entire work step.

YELLOX is our SPAX innovation when it comes to corrosion protection, which not only benefits you as the user, but also the environment. Unlike the conventional yellow or blue zinc-plated screws, YELLOX ist chromium(VI)-free and is therefore much better for humankind and nature alike. They are also just as resistant to corrosion as their conventional zinc-plated counterparts with the same surface thickness. However, their use is limited to indoor areas. As the name suggests, YELLOX-coated screws also have a yellowish appearance. What this means for you: You can fasten with YELLOX screws indoors without hesitation – harmful chromium(VI) and corrosion are a thing of the past.

This increases the lateral hold for the screwdriver bit and reduces the cam-out effect. Typical tapering on conventional cross recess drives causes this to happen, since the cordless screwdriver torque pushes the screwdriver bit upwards.

The flat countersunk head has a polygonal underside ("pockets") that mills its way into the wood and can therefore be countersunk without having to pre-drill the screw hole. The flat countersunk head sits flush with the surface.

The screws with partial thread are ideal for fastening thin components like engineered wood boards, panels and floorboards to thicker components like squared timbers or beams. The short thread penetrates the thick component, whilst the thread-free shank remains in the attachment. This creates maximum contact pressure between the two. The thread-free part should be at least the same thickness as the attachment.
